The Many Advantages Of Business Networking.

Its time to break through the glass ceiling and broaden our horizons when it comes to business networking.

Business networking is more than just a tactic that some people use to draw in more clientele. For most small business owners, proper networking skills are necessary for their continued existence and success.

Networking takes many forms. Whether a business owner is cold-calling clients on the phone, or meeting other business owners in the area for breakfast or lunch, the networking never stops. Networking leads to referral business, and referral business leads to increased customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Many owners choose to become part of organizations such as their local Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber is an excellent way for business owners to participate in business advocacy and lobbying efforts, and provides a way for business owners to band together for their own protection. Chambers of Commerce around the world hold both formal meetings and informal “meet-and-greets” during which business owners can discuss the current business climate in their given area, and formulate ways to overcome obstacles such as local governmental regulations and workforce problems.

Lets work together!

Regardless of the type of networking activities that an owner conducts, they are still responsible for presenting themselves in a way that is both professional and forceful. Without a forceful but polite demeanor, business owners may fall prey to the most difficult of obstacles, word of mouth and the rumor mill. If a business owner doesn’t conduct themselves with the utmost dignity, they may be labeled as unstable, and other business owners may elect to exclude them from future meetings and planning sessions. This leads to a rapid breakdown in communication, and a corresponding drop in sales.

An owner that is well-versed in networking skills can be nearly assured a profitable business climate and a steady stream of both new customers and repeat business. While new customers are essential to grow any business, repeat customers are equally important, as they keep the business going even during lean economic times.

Networking skills tend to be a mixture of both learned behavior and natural charisma. A business owner that can harness both aspects of the networking trade can maintain an intricate web of contacts and vendors. With that network in place, new business can always be found and the business owner can always ensure that they are being presented with the best options available to guarantee the success of their endeavors.

What is V Grooving and how this technique can enhance your home or office.

Glass v grooving is not an edging process, but uses similar polishing and grinding technology in producing decorative grooves (patterns) or plate grooves (straight) on the surface of glass. The depth of the v groove is related to the thickness of the glass, and it is not recommended to be fabricated on glass less than 1/8″ thick.

One special window or your entire home can be enhanced with the elegance of custom  v grooved glass. This special design treatment is heralded by architects and interior decorators alike for its distinctive charm. Custom v grooved glass is available in insulated windows and patio doors. Pick the style that matches your decor. Custom v grooved glass is available in several styles with 3 distinct groove effects to suit your taste.

V-Groove is a way to engrave any type of glass. Both lineal and curved patterns can be cut into the glass surface to create a distinctive look or to add a functional benefit.

V-Groove is cut into the glass using an innovative technique that is like using a chisel on wood. The first pass, called a grind, creates a textured opaque finish. It can be left like this or put through a second pass, or a polish, which creates a smooth clear finish. Or you can combine a wide grind with a narrower polish to create a shadow.

Bear Glass can create almost any pattern or design that you can think of. From traditional and ornate patterns to sleek contemporary geometric designs, with Bear Glass V-Groove you have plenty to consider – different finishes, different widths, applied to your design.

Our V-groove and face beveling machine can produce unlimited designs to meet your specs of any job. We also have our own in house designers that can work with you on your designs. Whether you are working with glass or mirror we can meet your needs.

Bear Glass manufactures and offers V Groove Glass which are available in variety of shapes, sizes, colors and designs to match with the interiors and exteriors. These glasses are well suited for homeowners as they can give striking look to their windows and doors. Also, the transparency of V groove glass adds a different look to all the grooved products.

Our product range is also available in diverse patterns that can be engraved on any glass option such as:

  • High-performance low-E glass
  • Energy-saving heat mirror glass
  • Even-tempered TUF Glass

We will ship V Grooved glass worldwide.

A Touch Of Class With Our Back Painted Glass!

Bear Glass can make your home or office look unique with the use of back painted glass!!!

At Bear Glass we specialize in creating high quality  back painted glass products for commercial and residential applications. Popular uses for colored glass surfaces include: Back Painted Kitchen Backsplashes, Painted Glass Walls and Glass Countertops. It is recommended that all back painted glass be produced on low iron glass to reduce color distortion and ensure accurate tinting. Furthermore, our skilled artisans can color match back painted glass to Pantone, Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams swatches with striking accuracy. Bear Glass can also create glass samples specific to your color requirements ensuring accuracy and overall satisfaction of the finished product.

Our Back Painted Glass creates that dramatic effect that you are looking for!!!

Custom options such as edge-work, cut-outs, odd-shapes and various thickness’ are available to meet your projects unique needs. If necessary,  back painted glass can also be tempered or laminated to satisfy safety requirements. Back painted glass backsplashes offer an easy to maintain sophisticated appearance that will last for years. Are you searching for that special something to tie everything in your space together? Back painted glass just might be the answer! For more information about custom back painted glass please contact a Bear Glass representative.

In our opinion, few things can create a more stunning and breathtaking effect in your home or kitchen than some beautifully back painted glass. You can find a lot of different uses for back splash glass in the home in general. They can be utilized in everything from refrigerator doors, picture frames, shower screens and coffee tables. More often than not, however, back painted glass is utilized in the kitchen, providing home owners with sleek and unique back splashes and cabinet doors. Overall, back painted glass is more attractive and easier to maintain than tile. The main problem with tile is the grout lines, which are hard to keep clean and present a breeding ground for bacteria and mold. Back painted glass is hygienic and easy to clean without being fragile. Back painted Glass is limited only by your imagination.  It’s uses encompass so many applications. It is durable, strong, and the prestigous look will give you years of worry free use.  It can be made in a solid colour, or transparent depending on the application and the desired look. Back-painted glass technology is simple and durable. A special color application is applied to the back of a glossy glass panel (not the side to be used as surface area). Painting the backside of glass protects the color application from scratches and other environmental wear, and preserves the reflective quality of the glass. To maintain color integrity, low-iron glass panels are used. Low-iron glass minimizes the iron particles that give glass its natural green tint; the result is an ultra clear product. Installation requirements for back-painted glass are straight forward and mostly follow mirror installation guidelines.

Custom Laminated Glass By Bear Glass

Laminated glass panels can be that touch of class and safety that you are looking for!

Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. The interlayer keeps the layers of Laminated glass bonded even when broken, and its high strength prevents the glass from breaking up into large sharp pieces. This produces a characteristic “spider web” cracking pattern when the impact is not enough to completely pierce the glass.

Laminated glass is normally used when there is a possibility of human impact or where the glass could fall if shattered. Skylight glazing and automobile windshields typically use laminated glass. In geographical areas requiring hurricane-resistant construction, laminated glass is often used in exterior storefronts, curtain walls and windows.

Bear Glass offers Custom laminated glass which is constructed by bonding a polyvinyl butyral (PVB) plastic interlayer between two pieces of glass under heat and pressure to form a single piece of glass. Custom Laminated glass can be made using many combinations of clear, tinted, translucent, or reflective glass. Various colors and types of inter-layers may be used as well.

Laminated glass provides significant sound control characteristics, effectively blocking out unwanted noise. In addition to sound control, laminated glass resists penetration and forced entry, while screening out the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays.

When laminated glass is broken, the glass particles adhere to the vinyl interlayer, reducing the risk of shattering glass. Laminated glass tends to stay in the opening, securing it.

Custom Lamination has various uses.

What is Laminated Glass?
Laminated Glass is a multifunctional glazing material that can be used in a variety of applications. It is manufactured by permanently bonding two or more lites of glass with layers of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer, under heat and pressure, to create a single construction.

Where should I use them?

  • Places where safety glass is required legally
  • Museums, Prisons, Government Buildings, airports, bus station
  • Jewelry Stores, Banks, show rooms
  • Safety Glazing Applications
  • Schools, Hospitals, Hotels
  • Office Buildings, Furniture interior decoration
  • Bulletproof glass:

PROPERTIES:
1) Safety: if impacted by outside forces, it shatters but never splinters for protecting objects inside

2) Sound insulation

3) UV-proof. Laminated glass insulates most UV while allowing visible light to enter, thereby protecting furniture, carpeting and indoor decorations against aging and fading

4) Bulletproof. High intensity glass can be made by adding more PVBs and glass of different thickness

5) Except of transparent PVB, we offer milk white and other various colors to meet different tastes and needs

Shapes:
Below are some of the many shapes you may select from for your glass needs:

If the shape you need is not displayed we can probably still create it for you;

Please contact us to verify that we can cut the shape you desire with either a drawing, picture or diagram of the shape. A pattern is required before we can cut the glass for you. This pattern is usually created from paper, wood and/or cardboard.

Glass Thickness
Any combination of flat glass 1/8” (3mm) to ¾” (19mm) or pattern glass can be laminated (subject to weight restrictions)

Edgework
This is the shaping or finishing of the edges of a glass surface, usually by grinding with an abrasive wheel.

  • Seamed edge is the standard edge for laminated glass
  • Polishing and grinding is also available

Custom Cut Size Laminated Glass is a Bear Glass specialty. Call us with your special needs and your unusual requirements. Competitive prices, outstanding delivery dates, and close interactive customer service make Bear Glass a perfect choice for your next job.

When Buying Glass, Buy American… Buy Bear Glass!!!

When trying to cut costs, many companies weigh their options with buying products overseas as opposed to buying American quality products. There are many things to consider when making your decision. Bear Glass is definitely biased when it comes to this subject  but we will try to stick with the facts in this article.

China’s manufacturing advantages remain formidable. With factory wages averaging $1.26 an hour, the mainland is still hard to beat for labor-intensive products such as toys and apparel. China is also rising fast in industries like solar power modules and cars, thanks to strong domestic demand and generous government incentives.

Cost is usually the major driver in a company’s decision to purchase parts and products from abroad. Yet in a 2008 Pricewaterhouse-Coopers survey of retail and consumer-goods companies, one-quarter of respondents said they could not quantify actual savings. Many tracked transportation, customs, and warehousing costs. But quality and reliability of vendors often went unmeasured.

I said it was tough to decide what to do about Chinese-made products if price matters. This led to an outcry from customers, who said among other things “you get what you pay for” and “have you thought about the poor living conditions of the people who make this cheap stuff?”

There is a simple truth to this debate:  It’s easy to stick with American-made when quality matters.

BEAR GLASS IS A FULL GLASS FABRICATOR IN BROOKLYN, NY.  WE ARE THIRD
GENERATION GLAZIERS.  WE ARE AT OUR CURRENT LOCATION FOR OVER 20 YEARS.
HERE WE UTILIZE OVER 25, 000 SQ FT TO ITS MAXIMUM . WE DELIVER TO THE
TRI-STATE AREA 5 DAYS A WEEK, WITH 5 TRUCKS ON THE ROAD DAILY.  ALSO, WE
SHIP NATIONWIDE.  WE USE CUTTING EDGE TECHNOLOGY TO SERVICE OUR
CUSTOMERS, AND WE HAVE THE LARGEST INVENTORY FOR STOCK SHEETS.  EVEN
THOSE HARD TO FIND TYPES.  WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR NEW WAYS TO BE
MORE PRODUCTIVE.  WHETHER IT’S PURCHASING NEW MACHINERY TO PROVIDE NEW
SERVICES OR BRINGING IN DIFFERENT LINES OF GLASS, WE DO IT.  WE STRIVE TO
KEEP OUR CUSTOMERS SATISFIED, AND ARE ALWAYS LOOKING TO MAKE NEW ONES.
WE ENJOY WORKING ONE ON ONE WITH PEOPLE  IN THEIR PROJECTS.

Now we do understand that Chinese labor is much cheaper. (The last I heard, a good glass worker in China makes about $300-$400 per month.) But Americans still do better work. They do it on time. They speak English. They understand what the word “quality” means. And, we don’t have to pay a 20% to 30% surcharge for shipping costs.

Like Bear Glass, a growing number of companies are moving beyond the usual considerations of labor and raw material costs in deciding where to produce goods to calculate the “total cost of ownership.” That means tallying expenses associated with things such as storage and delays. By this light, the so-called China price, which always seemed to be at least 40% below U.S. costs on everything from bedroom furniture to telecom gear, isn’t so low. In fact, China’s once-formidable edge in manufacturing has all but disappeared in some industries

Lots of other business owners are making the same discoveries that Bear Glass has mentioned. Language barriers, long delivery delays and confusion about how to produce the product to specifications are to name but a few.

We found a simple solution for our clients. Work with Bear Glass because we are a factory who speaks your language. Skip shipping hassles by buying inside your own country. And, work with people who understand what the word quality really means.

Bear Glass  is an all American company  that makes a better finished product than China for less money  based on quality and reliability.
