Curved glass is the modern approach being used in different building structures by with different permutations and combinations of designs on glass. It is even quite easy to design a house or a workplace building by using a curved glass. These are much better in terms of enhanced dimensions, greater longevity, and more space.
This kind of glass offers more benefits in terms of its transparency. So, one can easily use it for external surfaces to enjoy a good quantity of light till evening, without having to worry, for the warmth or heat of external light. Also, this is way better than a normal conventional form of cemented structure or wall in terms of sophistication and décor. - Glass based architectures are quite easy to be maintained on a regular basis.
- Glass based architectural designs can be E2D or 3D in structure. In case of 2D structure design, the curvature is only one side while in case if 3D structural design, the structure is more than just being one form and extend up to different directions. This results into formation of a dome like structure as against a cylindrical structure used in the case of 2D designs. So the bend created in this case is multi directional in its form. 2D glass made structures is created by using a CNC or computer numerically controlled equipment meant for the purpose.

Forms of curved glass:
- Annealed glass- This kind of glass possess average density and strength and hence are used in front spaces that require glass made decoration rather than strength and protection. One example of this is the glass windows made in the front portion of shopping spaces.
- Toughened glass- the mechanism, of producing a toughened glass is such that, first of all an annealed glass has to be heated over 700 degrees Celsius and then it has to be gradually cooled down. This helps to make it easy and durable. Some of the most common applications are those of making lass made staircases and other interior decorations.
- Laminated glass- The mechanism of floatation of a laminated glass is such that two layers of glasses that war aligned with each other are connected with each other and this increases the toughness of the glass. It is the safest and strongest form of glass and foes not fall apart even when broken.
- Float glass- This kind of glass is even very useful in making different structure that help in interior as well as exterior decorations for residential buildings and other applications. The general specification for such a glass is BS ISO 11485 (2012) or American ASTM C 1464-06(reapproved as 2011).
