Tempered glass is everywhere — your car windshield, smartphone screen, shower door, oven door. Yet despite being one of the most widely used materials in modern life, it remains deeply misunderstood. From construction pros to curious homeowners, myths about what tempered glass can and cannot do continue to spread. Time to set the record straight. THE 7 MYTHS 1. MYTH “Tempered glass can be cut after it’s been tempered” This is the single biggest misconception. Once glass has been tempered, it absolutely cannot be cut. Tempering introduces a layer of compressive stress across the surface and tensile stress at the core. The moment you score or attempt to cut it, those stresses release catastrophically — shattering the entire pane into thousands of small, dull fragments (that’s actually the safety feature). If you need a custom-sized piece of tempered glass, it must be cut and shaped first, then sent through the tempering furnace. FALSE All cutting must happen before the tempering process. 2. MYTH “Tempered glass is unbreakable” Tempered glass is significantly stronger than regular annealed glass — typically 4 to 5 times stronger — but it is far from unbreakable. A sharp impact at the right angle, particularly at an edge or corner, can shatter it entirely. The phrase ‘safety glass’ refers to how it breaks (into blunt pebbles rather than sharp shards), not to an inability to break at all. Nickel sulphide inclusions from the manufacturing process can also cause spontaneous breakage even without any external force. FALSE Stronger — yes. Unbreakable — absolutely not. 3. MYTH “Tempered glass and laminated glass are the same thing” These are two entirely different products, often confused because both carry ‘safety glass’ labelling. Tempered glass is a single pane that has undergone a heat-treatment process. Laminated glass consists of two or more panes bonded with a plastic interlayer (usually PVB). When laminated glass breaks, fragments stick to the interlayer rather than scattering. Windshields use laminated glass; shower doors use tempered. Each has specific building code applications — they are not interchangeable. FALSE Two distinct products with very different behaviours on impact. 4. MYTH “You can drill holes in tempered glass with the right bit” No drill bit, however specialised, will safely drill a hole through tempered glass after tempering. The internal stress distribution makes it physically impossible — the friction and heat of drilling creates a stress concentration that will cause the pane to shatter instantly. Any holes, notches, or cut-outs must be specified and made before tempering. If you need a tempered glass panel with a hole (for a bolt, shower fitting, or cable), order it pre-drilled and then tempered. FALSE Holes must be made before tempering — no exceptions. 5. MYTH “Tempered glass is always the legal safety requirement” Building codes and safety standards vary significantly by country, region, and application. While tempered glass is required in many high-risk locations — shower enclosures, glass doors, sidelights, overhead glazing — it is not a universal requirement in all glazing situations. In some applications (such as overhead or walk-on glass), laminated glass is actually required or preferred over tempered because, when it does break, the fragments remain in place rather than falling. Always consult the applicable local building code rather than assuming tempered glass is the default legal answer. FALSE Requirements vary — always check local codes and standards. 6. MYTH “Tempered glass can withstand extreme temperature changes” Tempered glass does have a higher resistance to thermal stress than standard glass — this is why it’s used for oven doors and fireplace screens. However, it still has limits. Rapid and uneven temperature differentials, particularly edge-to-centre gradients, can and do cause thermal breakage. A glass panel with one section in full sun and another in deep shade, or a pane exposed to a sudden blast of cold water while hot, can crack. The tempering process improves thermal performance but does not make glass immune to thermal shock. FALSE More heat-resistant than annealed glass, but not thermally invincible. 7. MYTH “All tempered glass breaks the same way” The characteristic ‘pebble’ fracture pattern of tempered glass is well known, but not all tempered glass shatters identically. The thickness of the glass, the degree of tempering (heat-soak testing can remove panes with inclusions), the presence of coatings, and the nature of the impact all affect how breakage occurs. Thicker tempered glass may break into larger chunks than thinner panes. Some premium architectural tempered glass is heat-soaked specifically to trigger spontaneous breakage of defective units in the factory — reducing the risk of field failures later. ‘Tempered’ is not a single monolithic standard. FALSE Fracture behaviour varies with thickness, treatment level, and impact type. The Bottom Line Tempered glass is a remarkable engineering material — stronger, safer on breakage, and more thermally capable than ordinary glass. But the myths surrounding it can lead to costly mistakes, failed projects, or even injuries. The cardinal rule to remember is simple: plan all modifications before tempering. Once it’s tempered, the glass is finished — literally and figuratively. Work with a qualified glazier when specifying or sourcing tempered glass, and always verify the relevant safety codes for your application.

From raw-cut glass to polished perfection — why the edge is where safety meets craftsmanship, and how Bear Glass has mastered every profile.

Glass, in its raw form, is unforgiving. The moment a sheet is cut, it bears a razor-sharp edge capable of causing serious injury on contact. But in the hands of a skilled glazier, that same edge transforms into a feature — a precise, beautiful, and structurally sound boundary that defines the character of the finished piece.

Glass edgework is the collective term for all the processes that treat, refine, and shape the cut edge of a glass or mirror panel. It is one of the most technically demanding steps in glass fabrication — and one of the most consequential. Choose the wrong profile, skip the polish, or rush the grind, and an otherwise perfect piece of glass becomes unsafe, unattractive, or prone to chipping.

At Bear Glass Inc., a prominent glazier operation with facilities in Queens Village, NYC and Tinton Falls, NJ, glass edgework is not an afterthought. It is a craft. With over four decades of experience and a full suite of electrical and hand tools operated by expert glaziers, Bear Glass produces every edge profile — from the simplest seamed edge to the most elaborate ogee bevel — with exacting precision.

This guide walks through everything you need to know about glass edgework: what it is, why it matters, the full range of profiles available, where each is used, and how Bear Glass delivers it at scale across the United States.

Three core reasons every glass edge needs treatment:

Personal Safety

Unpolished edges cause lacerations during handling, transport, and installation. Seaming or polishing removes the arris and eliminates dangerous sharpness, protecting workers and end-users alike.

Structural Longevity

Grinding removes the stress-fracture zone along the cut. A properly edgeworked panel resists chipping under vibration and thermal movement, lasting significantly longer in service than an untreated equivalent.

Dimensional Tolerance

Edgework is also a precision sizing process. Grinding can correct minor dimensional inaccuracies from cutting, ensuring the glass fits its frame, channel, or installation point exactly — critical for commercial glazing projects.

The Raw Edge Problem — and Why You Cannot Ignore It

When glass is cut using a scoring wheel or waterjet, the resulting edge is structurally compromised. The cut creates microscopic fractures along the glass surface, and the arris — the sharp corner where the flat face of the glass meets the cut edge — is literally blade-like. Touching it without protection can slice skin instantly.

Beyond the immediate injury risk, an untreated edge is a liability in installation. Vibration, temperature cycling, and mechanical stress all focus energy at the edge of a glass panel. Micro-fractures propagate from the arris, leading to chipping, cracking, and in worst cases, spontaneous breakage. This is especially critical for tempered glass, where any post-tempering edge damage can compromise the entire panel’s integrity.

Every Edge Bear Glass Can Deliver

The right edge profile depends on the application, the thickness of the glass, the desired aesthetic, and the visibility of the edge in the finished installation. Bear Glass offers the full spectrum — from purely functional to architecturally decorative.

Applications Across Residential & Commercial Projects

Edgework decisions ripple through every part of a project — from design intent to installation ease to long-term safety. Here are the most common contexts where Bear Glass edgework makes the difference.

How Bear Glass Executes Edgework

Glass edgework at Bear Glass is a multi-stage process combining CNC-controlled grinding machinery with the hands-on expertise of glaziers who have honed their craft over decades. Each profile requires a different grinding wheel, a different pass sequence, and a different polishing medium.

Specification Review

Every order begins with a thorough review of the edge specification against the glass type, thickness, and end use. A 1/2″ flat polish on 3/8″ tempered glass has very different tolerances than a decorative ogee bevel on 3/4″ annealed glass.

Rough Grinding

Diamond grinding wheels remove the raw arris and shape the basic profile. This stage determines the dimensional accuracy of the final edge and removes all micro-fractures from the cut.

Fine Grinding & Shaping

Progressively finer abrasive wheels refine the profile and remove scratches from the rough grind. For complex profiles like ogee or waterfall, skilled hand work ensures the curve is smooth and consistent across the full run.

Polishing

Cerium oxide polishing compounds on felt or cork wheels bring the ground surface to optical clarity. This is what separates a flat grind from a flat polish — and the difference is visible from across the room.

Quality Inspection

Every edgeworked panel is inspected against the specification before dispatch. Edge consistency, surface clarity, dimensional accuracy, and the absence of chips or scratches are all verified before the order ships.

Decision Guide: Choosing the Right Edge Profile

The optimal edge profile depends on answering four questions clearly before fabrication begins. Bear Glass representatives can advise on each — but here is a working framework.

Is the edge visible in the finished installation?

If yes, the edge is a design element. Polished profiles — flat polish, pencil polish, bevel — are the minimum standard. Decorative profiles like ogee and waterfall are strong options. If no, a seamed edge provides safety without the additional cost of a full polish.

Will people touch the edge regularly?

Table tops, shelves, railings, and shower enclosures are all touched constantly. These always warrant a fully polished edge. A pencil or flat polish removes any residual texture and feels completely smooth under the fingertip.

What is the glass thickness?

Thicker glass (1/2″ and 3/4″) supports the widest range of decorative profiles. Many decorative options — waterfall, ogee bevel — require minimum thicknesses to provide enough material for the grind. Bear Glass‘s specifications list exactly which profiles are available at each thickness.

What is the overall design language of the space?

Contemporary and minimalist interiors typically favor flat polish or pencil polish — clean, invisible lines that let the glass speak for itself. Traditional or luxury residential projects often call for bevel or ogee profiles that add visual weight and classical character.

“For products where the edge of the glass is showing, you need edgework. From glass table tops to glass display cases, all need proper edgework. Different types of edgework are applicable on different types of products.”

Four Decades, Three Generations, One Standard of Excellence

Bear Glass is not a sheet-metal shop that happens to cut glass. It is a full-service glass fabrication house — one of the largest stocking distributors of glass and mirror sheets in the United States — with specialized expertise built over more than four decades and passed down through three generations of glaziers.

The company operates facilities in Queens Village, NYC and Tinton Falls, NJ, with a fleet of dedicated glass delivery trucks running seven days a week. Whether the order is a single custom tabletop for a Brooklyn apartment or eighty pieces of wire glass for a commercial construction project, Bear Glass delivers with speed, accuracy, and craftsmanship.

Bear Glass handles edgework on glass, for residential and commercial applications, and ships nationwide. The available profiles cover every application from the purely functional seam to the most elaborate decorative ogee bevel — with experts on hand to advise on the right specification for every project.

For contractors, installers, interior designers, and architects working across the Northeast and beyond, Bear Glass offers something rare: the stock, the capability, and the expertise to turn around complex edgework orders at competitive prices without compromising with quality.

“Every great building starts from the ground up — and the most visionary architects know that the floor isn’t just where you walk, it’s where your design makes its first statement.” — The Flooring Debate Concrete, Wood, or Glass: Which Floor Defines the Future? For decades, the world of flooring has been dominated by two titans: traditional concrete and hardwood or engineered wood. These materials have shaped the interiors of homes, offices, commercial spaces, and public buildings across the globe. They are trusted, well-understood, and comfortably familiar. But as architecture pushes into more expressive, light-forward territory, a third contender has stepped onto the scene — and is rapidly stealing the spotlight. Laminated acid-etched glass flooring represents a fundamental shift in how designers think about space, light, safety, and aesthetics. It is no longer a futuristic curiosity found only in high-end showrooms or museum installations. Today, it is a practical, customisable, and increasingly affordable choice for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects of all scales. Leading this transformation in the United States is Bear Glass Inc. — a fourth-generation glazier based in Queens, New York, with a reputation built on precision craftsmanship and an extensive portfolio of glass solutions. The laminated acid-etched glass floors combine safety engineering with aesthetic sophistication in a way no other flooring material can match. — Head-to-Head Comparison Traditional Floors vs. Glass: The Full Picture Before we can appreciate what makes glass floors so revolutionary, we need to understand the full strengths — and significant limitations — of the materials that have long defined our floors. 🏗️ Traditional Concrete Durability: High — but cold, grey, monotonous Aesthetics: Functional, industrial — limited appeal Light transmission: None — blocks all natural light Maintenance: Cracks over time; stains easily Customisation: Minimal; costly to modify ⚠ Outdated for modern design ✦ Laminated Acid-Etched Glass Durability: Exceptional — laminated for safety & resilience Aesthetics: Stunning satin finish; customisable patterns Light transmission: Softly diffuses light between levels Maintenance: Easy — scratch-resistant, anti-fingerprint Customisation: Fully bespoke: logos, patterns, opaque/satin ★ Recommended for modern spaces 🪵 Traditional Wood Durability: Moderate — warps, scratches, fades Aesthetics: Warm, natural — but ubiquitous Light transmission: None — absorbs rather than reflects Maintenance: Requires regular sanding & refinishing Customisation: Limited to stain colours & grain patterns ⚠ Familiar but high-maintenance The comparison reveals a stark reality: concrete and wood floors are passive surfaces — they cover the ground and that is largely all they do. Glass flooring, by contrast, is an active architectural element. It participates in the flow of light, expands the perception of space, and carries an unmistakable visual language of sophistication. — The Case Against the Status Quo Why Concrete and Wood Are Falling Short The Concrete Problem Concrete floors have long been a choice of necessity more than desire. Yes, concrete is tough — but it is also relentlessly cold underfoot, acoustically harsh, and visually monotonous without expensive treatments. It cracks under pressure and thermal cycling, absorbs moisture that encourages mould, and stains permanently without heavy sealants. In commercial settings, the maintenance burden is non-trivial. Perhaps most significantly, concrete absorbs and entombs light — in multi-storey buildings, it creates a stark separation between levels that shrinks every room it occupies. Industrial chic has had its moment, but discerning clients and designers are increasingly looking for something that transcends utilitarian grey. The Wood Dilemma Hardwood floors carry a timeless warmth that is genuinely appealing. But warmth has its costs. Wood swells and contracts with humidity, it scratches under furniture and heel traffic, and it fades under sunlight exposure. Refinishing is an expensive, messy, and periodically necessary ordeal. Engineered wood is more stable but sacrifices authenticity. And neither hardwood nor engineered wood can transmit light, visually connect spaces, or be etched with custom patterns that communicate a brand or design identity. More critically: in a world where sustainability matters, sourcing quality hardwood responsibly is increasingly difficult and costly. The environmental arithmetic is shifting decisively in favour of materials that last longer and require less intervention. “The floor you walk on today should still look and perform like new decades from now — without refinishing, without replacement, without apology.” Bear Glass Inc. — Design Philosophy Bear Glass Inc. — Queens, New York, USA Laminated Acid-Etched Glass Floors: Engineering Meets Artistry Bear Glass Inc. has spent over two decades refining the craft of glass fabrication. Their laminated acid-etched glass floor panels represent the apex of that expertise — a product where structural safety and visual elegance are not competing values, but complementary ones. — Applications Where Acid-Etched Glass Floors Shine Brightest One of the most remarkable qualities of Bear Glass’s laminated acid-etched glass floor panels is their versatility. Far from being a niche showpiece, they are a genuinely functional flooring solution suited to a wide variety of project types. 01 Luxury Residences Mezzanine levels, staircases, and internal bridges that let light cascade through a home’s vertical space. 02 Hotels & Hospitality Lobby walkways, roof terraces, and spa areas where the floor itself becomes a design statement. 03 Restaurants & Bars Illuminated floor sections over wine cellars or kitchen views — theatre beneath every step. 04 Commercial Offices Open-plan multi-level offices where visual connectivity between floors improves collaboration and atmosphere. 05 Retail Environments Custom logo-etched glass floors that reinforce brand identity at the most fundamental touchpoint. 06 Museums & Galleries Gallery walk-overs that allow visitors to view objects or artwork displayed beneath their feet. — Sustainability & Longevity The Long Game: Glass as a Responsible Choice Sustainability in architecture is no longer a buzzword — it is a baseline expectation. On this front, glass flooring holds a compelling advantage over both concrete and wood. Glass is fully recyclable, produced without the same environmental strain as harvesting old-growth timber, and engineered to last for generations without the intensive maintenance cycles that wood demands. Bear Glass’s acid-etched panels can be manufactured using low-emission processes, and their durability means fewer replacement cycles over a building’s lifetime. A glass floor installed today — properly specified, properly loaded — may genuinely outlast the building itself. Wood, by contrast, has an ongoing ecological cost: replacement boards, chemical stains, varnishes and sealants, and the refinishing labour that accumulates every few years. Concrete, once poured and cracked, typically requires patching, resurfacing, or full replacement — all of which generate significant construction waste. The calculus is increasingly clear: glass is not just the most beautiful flooring option available — it is also, over a building’s full lifecycle, one of the most responsible ones. — Why Bear Glass Inc. Four Generations of Glass Mastery Bear Glass Inc. is not a new entrant chasing a trend. As fourth-generation glaziers operating out of Queens, New York, they carry more than two decades of institutional knowledge in glass fabrication, specification, and installation. Their facility maintains an extensive inventory of glass and mirror sheets — including laminated, tempered, fire-rated, and custom etched varieties — with thicknesses up to ¾ inch in standard stock. Their team provides full design and specification support: Bear Glass will calculate the correct glass thickness and panel construction for your specific load requirements, whether the application is a domestic walkway or an industrial floor in a high-traffic commercial building. This engineering partnership is something no timber merchant or concrete contractor can offer in the same way. Their delivery network — five trucks on the road daily across the tri-state area — means that projects in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and beyond receive prompt, professional service. For clients further afield, Bear Glass ships glass products across the entire continental USA and into Canada. The verdict from professionals who rely on them speaks clearly. Construction companies, upscale retail designers, art galleries, and dance studios across the Northeast have found Bear Glass to be a reliable partner who delivers quality on schedule — and goes the extra mile to match the precise product to the vision.
Why Concrete and Wood Are Falling Short

The Concrete Problem

Concrete floors have long been a choice of necessity more than desire.

The Wood Dilemma

Hardwood floors carry a timeless warmth that is genuinely appealing.

Laminated safety construction. Bear Glass recommends laminated glass for all floor applications. If one pane fails, the interlayer holds the panel together — there is no catastrophic collapse, no dangerous shards, no sudden void underfoot. This is the gold standard for structural glass used in floors and staircases.

Acid-etched anti-slip surface. Bear Glass uses the Walker Textures® Traction system — an acid-etched surface treatment that provides reliable grip underfoot while maintaining a refined, satin aesthetic. Two etching options are available: opaque and satin, offering design flexibility for any project brief.

Light diffusion without transparency. The acid-etching process creates a translucent, softly luminous surface. Natural or artificial light filters through gently, illuminating spaces below without exposing privacy — a unique property impossible to replicate in wood or concrete.

Full customisation. Bear Glass offers bespoke etching services — logos, patterns, gradients, decorative motifs. Glass is available in clear, Starphire, bronze, grey, black, blue, and green, up to 1″ in thickness, in custom sizes to suit any architectural dimension.

Structural load calculations included. Bear Glass provides engineering support to determine the correct glass thickness based on load requirements — from domestic residential floors right up to industrial-grade commercial applications. No guesswork; every installation is backed by specification expertise.

Nationwide delivery across the USA. Operating from Queens, NY with five trucks on the road daily, Bear Glass delivers to the tri-state area five days a week and ships products across the entire country — and into Canada — with what they call the safest delivery network in the USA.

The Long Game: Glass as a Responsible Choice

Sustainability in architecture is no longer a buzzword — it is a baseline expectation.

Bear Glass Inc. is not a new entrant chasing a trend.

In today’s fast-paced professional and academic environments, effective communication and collaboration are the cornerstones of success. The glass message board has emerged as one of the most elegant, functional, and versatile tools for modern offices, classrooms, boardrooms, and discussion spaces. Combining sleek aesthetics with practical utility, it has rapidly replaced traditional whiteboards and corkboards as the preferred display and communication solution.

Whether it is used for brainstorming sessions, project planning, faculty announcements, or client presentations, a glass message board offers a clean, professional surface that enhances any environment. This article explores the features, benefits, applications, and considerations of glass message boards in depth.

What Is a Glass Message Board?

A glass message board is a smooth, tempered glass panel mounted on a wall or placed on a stand, designed to serve as a writing, display, and communication surface. Unlike traditional whiteboards made of melamine or porcelain, glass message boards are constructed from high-quality tempered glass that is both durable and visually appealing.

Key Features

There are some key features you can see in Bear Glass’ glass message-board products. Here are the features listed below:

1. Tempered Glass Construction

Glass message boards are made from tempered safety glass, which is four to five times stronger than regular glass. This makes them highly resistant to breakage under normal use. Even in the unlikely event of a break, tempered glass shatters into small, blunt pieces rather than sharp shards, significantly reducing the risk of injury in office and classroom settings.

2. Non-Porous, Stain-Resistant

One of the most significant advantages of a glass surface over traditional whiteboards is its non-porous nature. Conventional whiteboards tend to absorb marker ink over time, leading to permanent ghosting and staining. Glass, however, is completely non-absorbent.

4. Elegant, Modern Aesthetics

Glass message boards project a premium, contemporary look that complements modern interior design. Available in tints of white, black, green, blue, and clear glass, they seamlessly integrate with minimalist, corporate, or creative office environments.

Applications of Glass Message Boards

The versatility of glass message boards makes them indispensable across a wide variety of professional and educational settings:

Client presentations and pitching

KPI tracking and performance reviews

Agenda displays and meeting notes

Lesson planning and concept illustration

Student presentations and project displays

Timetables, exam schedules, and announcements

Teams can freely sketch diagrams, map workflows, capture ideas from brainstorming sessions on glass message boards

Glass message boards are increasingly used in reception areas, lobbies, and communal corridors to display important notices, directions, daily schedules, and welcome messages.

Glass Message Board vs. Traditional Whiteboard

The table below highlights the key differences between glass message boards and conventional whiteboards:

Feature

Glass Message Board

Traditional Whiteboard

Surface Quality

Never ghosts or stains

Deteriorates over time

Durability

Lifetime with proper care

3–5 years typically

Maintenance

Wipe clean effortlessly

Requires special cleaners

Appearance

Premium, modern look

Standard, functional

Magnetic Option

Often available

Varies by model

Eco-Friendliness

High — long-lasting

Lower — frequent replacement

Cost

Higher upfront investment

Lower initial cost

Maintenance and Care Tips

To ensure your glass message board remains in pristine condition for years to come, follow these straightforward care guidelines:

Use only high-quality dry-erase markers — avoid permanent markers at all times.

Erase writing promptly after each session to prevent marker ink from drying on the surface.

Clean the board regularly with a microfiber cloth or a glass-specific dry-erase cleaner.

Avoid using abrasive scrubbing pads, harsh chemicals, or bleach-based cleaners.

Do not apply excessive pressure when writing, as it is unnecessary on a smooth glass surface.

Inspect the mounting hardware periodically to ensure the board remains securely fixed to the wall.

The glass message board represents a significant evolution in how offices, educational institutions, and collaborative spaces communicate and share information. Its combination of superior durability, ease of maintenance, visual elegance, and functional versatility makes it an outstanding choice for any environment that values clear communication and a professional image.

Bear Glass offers Walker Textures™ Traction – the ultimate anti-slip glass flooring product. Multi-level acid-etching of the Traction surface provides an unprecedented design option by combining discretion and security without impeding the natural flow of light. Traction is an all-glass flooring solution, using no coatings, paints or appliqués susceptible to chipping or flaking off. The slip resistant properties of Traction glass are entirely derived through acid etching, whereby portions of the glass surface are removed to varying depths by a controlled process.

Pattern Glass Traditionally pattern glass products have been used to obscure vision areas requiring privacy but allowing virtually the same light transmission as clear glass. The level of obscurity depends on the pattern which has been imprinted into the glass as it is made. This process of rolling the still hot and soft glass imparts a 3-dimensional texture to one side. The opposite side is relatively flat. The most common use of pattern glass is office screening, decorative partitions, rest room facilities, patio furniture, shower doors, and even entryways. Bear Glass stocks a wide variety of pattern glass with a variety of thickness of your liking. We can provide single cut size, case quantities, or whole truck loads depending on your needs. These products are typically available as both tempered and insulated. Bear Glass distribution centers are fully stocked and ready to deliver the largest selection at the best price and without expensive, transcontinental freight. Our extensive product line is divided into four levels of obscurity to assist in your selection: Our Transparent Glass is clear with very slight, if any distortion of the image viewed through it. However, it has considerable character derived from the irregularities within and upon the surface of the glass. Our Minimally Obscure Glass is essentially clear with a surface irregularity that somewhat distorts the image behind it. As with the Transparent Glass, it also has considerable character derived from the irregularities within and upon the surface of the glass. This glass would be inappropriate for privacy applications. The texture of our Moderately Obscure Glass is its predominate feature and it provides a moderate level of obscurity. It could be considered appropriate for semi-privacy applications where the viewer or the subject was at a significant distance from the glass. The texture of our Obscure Glass is pronounced enough to be its predominate feature and it provides a high level of obscurity. It would be generally appropriate for privacy applications. Detail is difficult if not impossible to discern through the glass. Pattern Glass from Bear Glass is perfect for a range of residential and commercial applications, enabling architects, builders, and specialty manufacturers to create translucent works of art. Our patterned glass is especially suited for frameless shower doors, but offers possibilities for numerous other interior applications. We carry more than 50 decorative patterns in stock and our global partnerships ensure easy access to hundreds more. Whatever your vision, we can bring it to life.
